Beginning homeschooling

There is so much available on the internet on home education that we really do not need to fork out our money to buy books on the subject. Just about any area of interest in homeschooling is available somewhere online.

Here are some links for the beginning homeschooler or person considering homeschooling.

Not technically homeschooling, but if you are saving good money in your most reducable part of your budget, then you will have "extra" money to spend or save up for your home education wish list.

These links will, perhaps, open your eyes to some new areas or ways to save.

Home management for homeschoolers

Home Management for homeschoolers

Are you struggling with home management?  Can you keep things clean and homeschool?  The purpose of Large Family Logistics is to help Christian homeschooling mothers with the daily tasks of home management.  If your family is not large or you are not homeschooling please do not feel that you are not welcome. There will still be things that apply to your life, make the systems fit your family life.    · Bring discipline to your life.
  · Clean your house and keep it clean.
  · Keep up with the laundry. Bit by bit we can do this!
  · Manage your kitchen from menu making, to freezing meals, to daily cleaning tasks.
  · Manage your home office. How to stay on top of the paper piles.
  · Strategic shopping with children in tow.
  · How to fit homeschooling in with your home management system. Chores and schoolwork can both get done.
  · Gardening, otherwise know as nearly free organic food.
  · Preparing for the Lord’s Day.
  · How to plan for hospitality and service work.
  · Fitting in crafts, sewing, and scrapbooking.
  · You get the idea; we’re going to work on it all.

Take these directions and use it as a springboard for ideas that fit your life. We all have unique families and living circumstances.

Yahoo Groups

YahooGroups

Don’t overlook this huge free resource that is a wealth of help, encouragement and also free home education materials.

Sign up for a yahoogroup account and then you can search the groups available there. Then click the tab to join the group. Be sure to read the rules and etiquette for each group you join. Sometimes these rules come in a special file that is emailed to you. Your “group settings” for each group can be customized. I recommend you set those to “digest form” on high volume elists.

There are too many yahoogroups to list that are homeschool inclined, but you are sure to find plenty! Just a search on the word homeschool turns up over 6,000! Many can be found on curricula buy/sell, homemaking, Bible studies, parenting, age specific, special needs, feeding your family, and more. You can type in a particular curriculum or teaching method and get results, as well.
